The Black Diamond hit recording act has spoken
on the recent situation between himself and his former label executive,
Don Jazzy where the later accused him of intellectual property thief
after the release of the song, ‘Baby Face' which came out a long time ago. The producer had claimed
that he wrote and recorded the song which was later re-recorded by Wande
Coal and Shizzi, demanding credit via Twitter. Wande Coal went on to
respond and say he had as much right to the song as Don Jazzy has.
Speaking in a recent interview, Wande Coal revealed that there was no contract between him and Mavin Records. ‘No controversy!’ He added and then moving on to talk about his coming album which would feature Burna Boy and P-Square.
According to another report, it was alleged on one occasion that Wande Coal was heard telling another artiste while in the UK that Don Jazzy did not have the financial capacity to carry the label.
Less than a year after Mavin Records launched, Wande left the label setting up his Black Diamond Entertainment outfit taking along with him the Mavin official disc jockey, DJ Spinall.
Along with his manager, Nana Abbey, Wande now operates on his own. It was also alleged that D’Banj’s former manager, John ‘Bankulli’ Abisagboola, is also working with Wande Coal.
